SMS Communication Policy

This policy outlines the appropriate use of SMS messaging for Peak Behavioral Services, LLC, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, Grasshopper SMS requirements, and industry best practices.
2. Authorized Use of SMS Communication
We use SMS messaging to communicate with patients, caregivers, and authorized representatives regarding:
- Appointment confirmations, scheduling, and reminders
- Progress updates and urgent notifications
- General customer care and support inquiries
SMS messaging will not be used to transmit Protected Health Information (PHI) beyond appointment-related details or general notifications. Patients are encouraged to use secure communication channels for sensitive health discussions.

Patients may opt-in to receive SMS messages through one of the following methods:
- During appointment scheduling: Patients provide their phone number and consent to SMS communication.

Upon successful enrollment, patients receive the following SMS:

4. Opt-Out Process
Patients can opt out of SMS communication at any time by:
- Replying “STOP” to any message received.
